Marlin "Marlie" F. Price

Marlin "Marlie" F. Price, 84, of Apple Grove, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.

He was born September 13, 1939, in Hogsett, WV, a son of the late John W. Price and Cora F. (Persinger) Price.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leo, Gene, John, Kenny, Doug and Harvey Price; and sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Mary, and an infant sister, Sharon Lynn.

Marlie was a loyal employee of Amherst Madison for over 40 years, during that time he had a boat dedicated in his name.  He attended Pleasant View Church in Gallipolis Ferry.  He provided well for his family and loved to farm.  In 2009, he was awarded the Mason County Conservation Farmer award.  He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed!

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis (Kinnaird) Price; children, Kim (Brent) Finley of Apple Grove, Jeff (Lisa) Price of Amanda, OH, Karen (Mark) Lucas of Gallipolis Ferry, and Erin (Brandon) Perry of Apple Grove; grandchildren, Cody (Jessica) Finley, Cassie (Travis) Simpkins, Corrie (Michael) Fetty, Calie (Bruce) McDermitt, Olivia (Jake) Rinehart, Natalie Price, Maddie Price and Karson Perry; and great-grandchildren, Adyson, Macie, Marlie, Dylan, Jo-Anna, Carlee, Abella, Laney and Lyla.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ted Nance officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Sunday at the funeral home.
