Marlene Anne Calloway Hope

Marlene Anne Calloway Hope, 76, of Galax, Virginia, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, after a long illness. She was born June 29, 1935 in Henderson, WV, a daughter of the late Harry N. Calloway and Elizabeth Rogers Calloway of Gallipolis Ferry. Marlene was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Dean Hope of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandparents, Gilbert F. Rogers and Pearl Austin Rogers of Redmond Ridge, Gallipolis Ferry; and John Calloway and Belva Fowler Calloway Daughterty of Henderson. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Hope, of Galax, Virginia; daughters, Lois Hope (Terry) Williams of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Valerie Hope (Timothy) Lashua of Douglasville, Georgia; sons, Nelson Hope of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, and Gregory (Beth) Hope of Elk Creek, Virginia; two sisters, Kaye (Michael) Legg and Shela (George) Miller both of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Minister Eugene Zopp officiating.
