Luzia Marianne Bowser

Luzia Marianne (Sowodniok) Bowser, 77, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Saturday, November 2, 2013. She was born December 13, 1935, in Tarnowitz, Germany, a daughter to the late Robert and Maria Sowodniok. Luzia was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. She enjoyed spending time making candy, gardening, and making crafts, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She dedicated many years of her life to the Mason County 4-H program both as a leader and volunteer and was recognized as an All Star member of the 4-H program. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Bowser of Gallipolis Ferry; five children, Ramona (Mark) Kincaid of Parkersburg, James (Kathy) Bowser of Southside, Patricia (Ronald) Ford of Parkersburg, Anita (Derek) Wolfanger of St. Marys, PA, and Mark (Melanie) Bowser of Fort Bragg, NC; eight grandchildren, Robert Weethee Jr., Garth Weethee, Andrea Weethee, Anneliese Wolfanger, Alexandra Wolfanger, Andrew Wolfanger, Melissa Bowser and Amy Bowser; five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hans (Hannelore) Sowodniok, Gunter (Brigette) Sowodniok, and Bernhard (Gabi) Sowodniok all of Germany. A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Father Dave Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Cemetery at Henderson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with the prayer of the rosary to follow at 8 p.m. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tia Wooten and the Pleasant Valley Hospice for their love and care.
