Katie Margaret Lambert

August 9, 1923 — February 28, 2014

Katie Margaret (Shiflet) Lambert, 90, of Point Pleasant, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28, 2014, at home surrounded by family. She was born August 9, 1923, in Point Pleasant, WV, a daughter of the late John W. Shiflet and Ida Mae (Neal) Shiflet. Katie was a homemaker and attended the Faith Valley Community Church in Gallipolis, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Lambert Sr.; a son, Ned Lambert Jr.; a granddaughter, Brenda Kay Lambert; five sisters, Irene Russell, Catherine Price, Mildred Neville, Genevieve Kerwood and Ida Mae Brothers; one brother, Howard Shiflet; five infant sisters; and two infant brothers. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Eris Lambert of Point Pleasant and Dennis and Janet Lambert of Point Pleasant; one daughter, Betty F. Stover of Point Pleasant; a stepson, Jack Lambert of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Patrica Barr, Linda Lambert, Mark Stover, Barbara Brewer, Lisa Halley, David Lambert, John Cody Lambert, and Cindy McGuire; 14 plus great grandchildren; 12 plus great- great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and 4 plus step great grandchildren. Also surviving are special nieces, Sally and Diane Reed, Brenda Shiflet and Hilda Riffle; special nephew, Tim (Jan) Kirkwood; along with other nieces and nephews; special friends, Alice Clagg; and her loving nurse and friend Dawn Hill. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Junior Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Beale Chapel Cemetery at Apple Grove. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home Tuesday. A speical thank you to Dr. Robert Tayengco, staff and nurses of Pleasant Valley Hospital, Pleasant Valley Home Health and Hospice, Pastor Junior Preston, Fatih Valley Community Church and all the friends she went to church with and neighbors she left behind.
