Eleanor Yvonne Keefer

Eleanor Yvonne Keefer, 85, of Leon, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, OH. She was born April 21, 1936, in Leon, a daughter of the late Homer Peck and Hazel Edith (Thomas) Peck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alvin Keefer; a daughter, Brenda Filkins; sister, Ruth Thomas; brothers, Keith, Donald and Charles Peck; sisters-in-law, Alpha Wedge and Pat Guillot; brothers-in-law, Lionel Keefer, Ray Keefer, Arlie Martin and Everett Wedge; and a nephew, Randy Wedge. Eleanor was a faithful member of the Leon United Methodist Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent for 46 years. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1953 and retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1985, with 26 years service. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Greta and Charles Boggess of Leon; grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Boggess of Lyme, NH, Danielle Boggess of Point Pleasant, Olivia Boggess of Leon and K.C. Filkins of Leon; great grandchildren, Tristan and Jacob Boggess of Lyme, NH; son-in-law, Lawrence Filkins (Rita Massie) of Leon; a sister, Frances (Don) Cantrell of Charleston; brothers, Steven (Betty) Peck of Chelsea, AL, Larry (Becky) Peck of Leon, Roger (Debi) Peck of Point Pleasant and Michael (Rhonda) Peck of Leon; sisters-in-law, Veva Martin of West Jefferson, OH and Patricia Keefer of Leon; and a brother-in-law, Don Thomas of Pembroke, VA. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Bill Greene and Pastor Cody Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the memorial service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Yauger Cemetery in Leon. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Holzer Fourth Floor East Staff, Holzer Hospice, Dr. Ahmad and Staff at the Holzer Cancer Center, for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leon United Methodist Church, 1386 Quinton Lane, Leon, WV 25123.
