Danny Elden Vanscoy, April 19, 1955 - March 12, 2021. Danny was the eldest son born to Elden G. and Beulah (Swiger) Vanscoy.He was born on his dad's 21st birthday. He is preceded in death by both parents; son, Danny E. Vanscoy II; brother, Tommy E. Vanscoy; and mother-in-law, Sue Matthews. Danny is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shana L. (Withers) Vanscoy; daughter-in-law, Samantha L. Vanscoy; grandchildren, Danny E. Vanscoy III and Rowsey Vanscoy; brother, Johnny E. (Polly) Vanscoy; father-in-law, William (Joann) Withers; sisters-in-law, Susan Vanscoy, Karla (Steve) Martin, Shela (Howard) Crawford; Stacy (Darrel) Hughes and Kim Withers; and brothers-in-law, Robert (Debbie) Matthews, Daren (Jill) Matthews and Bill Withers. He is also survived by Tammy DeMastus a cousin who held a special place in his heart; special friend, Stacy Bumgarner; and several nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Danny. Danny was a boilermaker for 35 years out of Local 667.He loved to hunt and was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1973. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Pleasant View Church at Gallipolis Ferry, with Pastor Ted Nance officiating.Social distancing will be observed and face masks are required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Church, P. O. Box 113, Gallipolis Ferry, WV 25515 Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
