Wilma Spires

Wilma M. Spires, 86, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born December 17, 1932, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Joseph L. Hurlow and Nora C. (Robinson) Hurlow. Wilma was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Spires; one sister, Audrey Louise Woods; and brothers, Okey Johnson Hurlow, Leo Joseph Hurlow, Dale Hurlow, Eugene Hurlow, William Hurlow and Leonard Hurlow. Wilma is survived by a daughter, Linda (Gary) Hoffman of Point Pleasant; two sons, Leemon (Mary) Spires of Southside and Lewis Randall Spires of Leon; grandchildren, Jamey (Aimee) Spires and Linda (Anthony) DeVault; great-grandchildren, Noah Spires, Hunter Spires, Lilly Spires, Kaylee Lyons, Cody DeVault, Cary DeVault and Terry DeVault; and one great-great-grandchild, Sebastian Gaul. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Sue Rogers; and brothers, Jim Hurlow, John Hurlow and Sam Hurlow. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Bert Flora officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Southside. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.
