William W. "Bill" Crawford

William W. "Bill" Crawford, 82, of Apple Grove, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

He was born February 8, 1942, in Apple Grove, a son of the late William Wesley Crawford and Allie Rebecca (Neville) Crawford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Allie Shawn Crawford; infant granddaughter, Allie Crawford Oliver; brothers, John Wesley Crawford and Howard Lee Crawford Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Plants, Barbara Harbour and Margie Wieser; and a son-in-law, J.D. Adkins.

Bill was a member of the Ashton Baptist Church in Ashton.  He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1960, served his country in the United States Army and retired from the Shell Chemical Plant in Apple Grove.  Bill was an avid outdoorsman and carpenter.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Jean (Teter) Crawford.  He was "Dad Crawford" to Kim (Jeff) Roach of Point Pleasant, Jeanie (Eric) Sturgeon of Ashton, Rebecca "Becky" Adkins of Apple Grove, Jesse Crawford of Apple Grove, Jesslyn Crawford of Apple Grove,  Cody (Shama) of Ashton and Ryan of Gallipolis Ferry.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Luke (Cheyenne) Sturgeon, Leah Sturgeon, J.W. Adkins and Blake Adkins; eight great-grandchildren, Laken, Lily, Landyn, Noah, Jamie, Toby, Vera and Navi; a brother-in-law, Ronald Teter of Kanawha City, WV; and many nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Brian May officiating.  Burial will follow at the Teter-Crawford Cemetery in Point Pleasant.  Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
