William Franklin Riddle,Sr.

William Franklin Riddle Sr., 86, of Fraziers Bottom, WV died Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. Franklin was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom, WV, had served in Europe with the U. S. Army during WWII, at which time he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a farmer, and a retired truck driver with Continental Can. He was born June 9, 1921 in Huntington, WV to the late Frank Riddle and Verna (Brammer) Stewart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, M. Irene (Miller) Riddle. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Henry "Jim" Mabry of Fraziers Bottom; a son, William Franklin Riddle Jr. of Fraziers Bottom; special family member, William S. Stewart; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Fraziers Bottom with the Rev. Robert "Bob" Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 555 Mason Road, Fraziers Bottom, WV 25082.
