William Hugh Rickard

William Hugh Rickard, 77, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Scenic Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bidwell, Ohio. He was born June 12, 1933, in Point Pleasant, the son of the late John Curtis Rickard and Ellen M. (Worley) McGraw. Hugh was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant. He was also a 1951 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a retired iron worker from Local No. 301 of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mikki Lou Rickard-Watson; one grandson, William "Bo" Rickard; and a sister, Laura Ellen Hill. Surviving are his wife, Dotty Lou (Baker) Rickard of Point Pleasant; two sons, Gary (Dee) Rickard of Point Pleasant, and Gregory Rickard of Point Pleasant; four grandchildren, Mindy Rickard, Olivia Remy, and Sean Rickard all of Point Pleasant, and Danny Watson II of Johnson City, Tennessee; two great grandchildren, Elora Remy and Ryder Gibbs of Point Pleasant; a son-in-law, Danny Watson of Proctorville, Ohio; a special cousin, Virginia Dunlap of Point Pleasant; and many loving friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor James Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant where military graveside rites will be given by Wright-Patterson AFB Honor Guard and American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant.
