William Irvin "Bud" Hatfield

William Irvin "Bud" Hatfield, 91, of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his home. He was born February 7, 1924, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late James Leonard Hatfield and Martha Jane (Trent) Hatfield. Bud was a farmer and retired with 39 years of service from the Mason County School System as a bus driver. He preached for over 50 years and was a member of Jordan Baptist Church and a 1942 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Irene (Rainey) Hatfield; one son, Michael Hatfield; three brothers, James Arnold, Drury L. and George Forrest Hatfield; one sister, Avis Maxine Henry. Bud is survived by sons and daughters, Nikki Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry, Rex Hatfield (Becky) of Gallipolis Ferry, Jeffrey Hatfield (Sharon) of Point Pleasant, John Hatfield (Stephanie) of Gallipolis Ferry, Joe Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry, Anita Evans (Matt) of Gallipolis, OH and daughter-in-law, Kay Hatfield of Gallipolis Ferry; twelve grandchildren, Rusty Hatfield (Brenda), Angie Huffman (Larry), Chris Hatfield, David Hatfield (Danetta), Sam Hatfield (Leah), Seth Hatfield (Bethany), Nicholas Hatfield, Kayla Holland (Patrick), Megan Patterson (Blake), Erin Hatfield, Allison Hatfield and Morgan Evans; eight great grandchildren, Tyler Huffman, Trent Huffman, Travis Huffman, TJ Huffman, Madison Hatfield, Caleb Hatfield, Kade Oliver and Cole Hatfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Jordan Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry with Rev. Fred McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home.
