Willard Edward Eldridge

Willard Edward "Pop Can Willie" Eldridge, 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. He was born June 22, 1941, in Tamcliff, WV, a son of the late Martin Eldridge and Myrtle (Johnson) Eldridge.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Willie was a former janitor at Lewis's Bar in West Hamlin, WV.He attended various churches in Mason County. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Frances Lynn (Jeffers) Eldridge of Point Pleasant; sister-in-law, Kristeen A. Schwartz of Point Pleasant; brothers-in-law, Howard (Phyllis) Jeffers of Moorefield, WV and Paul (Donna) Jeffers of Petersburg, WV; nephews and nieces, Betty and Mike Hively, Mary and James Hodge, Howard Schwartz, Pauline Jeffers, Carolyn and Kavin Hudnall and David and Stacey Schwartz all of Point Pleasant; and several great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Mark Mayes officiating.Burial will follow at the Eckard Cemetery in Point Pleasant.Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
