Wesley Lee Wears

Wesley Lee Wears, 40, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was born February 20, 1981, in Point Pleasant, a son of Mitchell Lee Wears and Mary Anna (Baird) Bumgarner. Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Diane Wears; maternal grandfather, William "Bill" Baird; paternal grandparents, Wesley Franklin Wears and Clara Belle (Smith) Wears; a brother, Shane Baird; and stepfather, Norris Bumgarner. He was a former employee of Twin River Hardwoods of Southside, WV. Wesley is survived by his father, Mitchell L. Wears and wife Angela of Point Pleasant; mother, Mary A. Bumgarner of Middleport, OH; children, Kenneth Wears of Southside, Shane Wears of Southside, Niles Brogan and fiancee Carley Stapleton of Glenwood, Hope Derenberger of Southside,Noah Derenberger of Southside, and Little Wes and Wyatt of Ohio; a grandchild, Milan Brogan of Glenwood; brothers, Mitchell L. Wears II of Point Pleasant and Thomas E. Wears of Point Pleasant; a sister, Shelia Wears of Point Pleasant; maternal grandmother, Lois Baird of Point Pleasant; step-grandparents, Thomas and Lois Bumgarner of West Columbia; stepbrother, Tommy Bumgarner of Wayne, WV; special friend, Les Taylor ofRacine, OH;and several uncles, aunts and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Bert Flora officiating.Burial will follow at the Henderson Cemetery in Henderson.The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Sunday at the funeral home.
