Warren Vaden Deweese

Warren V. DeWeese, 86, of Leon, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.

He was born May 16, 1938, in Leon, WV, a son of the late Harry Andrew DeWeese and Pearl (Herdman) Deweese.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna M. (Smith) DeWeese; daughters, Karen Matheny and Angela Hatcher; sons, Ronnie L. DeWeese and Warren "Pudge" DeWeese; brothers, Millard DeWeese and Gerrell DeWeese; and sisters, Geraldine Rice, Iva Morrison and infant sister Lorene DeWeese.

Warren was a Christian, who had accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He had retired from AEP River Division as a security guard.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. and David Warner of Leon; a sister, Linda Matheny of Columbus, OH; brother, Jerome (Judy) DeWeese of Columbus; two special nephews, Darrell (Betty) Morrison of Leon and Jerry DeWeese of Leon; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Tracy Durst officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Leon.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Thursday at the funeral home.
