Wanda Gail Watterson, 64, of Apple Grove, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born August 27, 1957, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late William A. Leport and Gertrude Augusta (Robinson) Leport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jill Scarberry; son Jeremy Scott Williams; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, George A. and Shirley A. (Meadows) Watterson. Wanda was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1975. She attended the College Hill Church at Gallipolis Ferry and was a retired cook from the Mason County Board of Education. She is survived by her husband, Edward A. "Joe" Watterson of Apple Grove; daughters, Jessica (Josh) Riffle of Point Pleasant and Jenna Watterson of Apple Grove; and grandchildren, Brayden Scarberry, Ava Riffle, Emma Riffle, Tristen Shuler and Trinten Shuler.She is also survived by sisters, Carol (Charles) Belcher of Gallipolis Ferry, Linda Knapp of Henderson and Wilma (Roy) McClure of Letart; two brothers, William A. Jr. (Tammy) Leport of Point Pleasant and Troy D. Leport of Apple Grove; and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Josh Searls officiating.Burial will follow at the Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove.The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.
