Walter Owen "Red" Eads, Jr., 82, of Point Pleasant, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 27, 2015, at home surrounded by his family and friends. "Red" never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was known for his Christian witness, knowledge of scripture and his constant smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was born February 20, 1933, in Point Pleasant, WV, a son of the late Walter Owen Eads Sr. and Cora Mae (Bennett) Eads. "Red" was a member of Henderson Church of Christ and retired from the Goodyear Plant in Apple Grove with 27 years service. He graduated from Point Pleasant High School Class of 1950 and was a member of Minturn Lodge No. 19 A.F. & A.M. of Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Odd Fellows Lodge No. 33, and Scottish Rite of Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mable L. Plants; and son, Stephen Kayser. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Jean (Mayes) Kayser Eads; children, Tammy (Bruce) Segovia of Lima, OH; Rita Eads of Alaska; Teresa (Randy) Kinnard of Apple Grove; and Scott (Lizabeth) Kayser of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, David Owen (Mallory) Segovia, John Segovia, Joshua Byer, Chelsea Byer, Sarah (Jared) Billings, Joseph (Megan) Kinnard, Annie Kayser, Amy Kayser, Krysten (Gary) Smith, and Sam (Letty) Kayser; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Howery, Adelynn Howery, Norah Jane Segovia, Makayla Billings, Jace Billings, Eli Kinnard, Luke Smith, and Stephen Owen Kayser; and one sister, Mary F. Wilcoxen of Point Pleasant. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Ministers Bill Deem and George Topping officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
