Vitus Ray Hartley, 61, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at home. He was born August 1, 1955, a son of the late Murlin Elizabeth (Hill) Hartley and Art Ellis Hartley Sr. of Point Pleasant. Vitus had trained with Heil and Quaker in heating and cooling and was co-owner of City Ice and Fuel and G & M Fuel in Point Pleasant. He was also a licensed riverboat pilot. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bassmasters, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Kay Hartley Ellis Holloway. He is survived by his father, Art E. Hartley Sr.; one daughter, Heather Lynn (Dustin) Horner of Marietta, OH; two grandsons, Joseph and Gage Holland; two brothers, Art E. Jr. (Janet) Hartley and Greg (Tina) Hartley of Point Pleasant. A graveside service and burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Creston Cemetery in Leon, with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating.
