Virginia Ann VanSickle, 81, of Gallipolis, OH, went to be with her LordWednesday, September 14, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born December 6, 1940, in Henderson, WV, a daughter of the late James Ottmer Plants and Thelma Christine (Barker) Plants. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Louise Plants; and brothers, Jim, Samuel, Charles Carroll, Alfred Sr. and Dorsol Plants. Virginia Ann was a member of Pleasant View Church in Gallipolis Ferry and retired from Scenic Hills Nursing Home in Gallipolis. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dale L. VanSickle of Gallipolis; daughters, Sandra Kay (Rick) Pinkerman of Salem, VA and Kelly Sue (Michael) Elliott of Gallipolis Ferry; a sister, Margaret Porter of Huntington; and a brother, Danny Plants of Henderson.She is also survived by four grandchildren, Rick L. (Phuong) Pinkerman, Joshua Dale (Jennifer) Pinkerman, Robyn Dawn (Joshua) Waugh Venoy and Robert M. Waugh; and seven great-grandchildren, Riley M. Waugh, Kennedy Pinkerman, Kinsley Pinkerman, Kylie Pinkerman, Ellie Pinkerman, Delaney Pinkerman and Perry Venoy. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ted Nance officiating.Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Henderson.The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday, at the funeral home.
