Virginia Louise Rayburn

March 8, 1917 — October 12, 2012

Virginia Louise Rayburn, 95, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born March 8, 1917 in Hogsett, WV, a daughter of the late Pearl A. Woods and Elma P. Woods. Virginia was a homemaker and farmer, had taught school in Mason County for five years in the 30's, and had worked as a nurse's aide at Lakin Hospital. She had graduated from Marshall College and was a member of Heights United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Leslie" Rayburn; and brother, William Chester Woods. Virginia is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Cecil Camden of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Diana Rayburn of Rocky Mount, Virginia; four grandchildren, Joshua (Allison) Camden of Olympia, Washington, Sarah Camden of Lisbon, Ohio, Deidre Rayburn of Rocky Mount, Virginia and Bradley Rayburn of Rocky Mount, Virginia; a step grandson, Chris (Jackie) Camden of Columbus, Ohio, step granddaughter, Aimee (Kevin) Reeves of Pickerington, Ohio, and five step great grandchildren. Virginia loved her church, church family, grandchildren and her four legged best friends. Her family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pleasant Valley Hospital, and Wexler Medical Center at Ohio State University for the attention and care that was given to their mother during her illness. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Nancy Hamm, Speaker Rich Blain, and Speaker Chipper Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.wilcoxenfuneralhome.com.
