Vernon A. Cadle, 83, of Leon, WV died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at home. Vernon was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church, was a woodwright and cabinetmaker by trade working for the Mason Furniture Company and later at the Merillat Industries. He was involved with West Virginia Farm Museum in Point Pleasant, and the Arts and Crafts Fair at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, WV. He was born October 5, 1924 in Leon, WV to the late Cleon B. and Bessie C. (Hodges) Cadle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise M. Burns; and brother, Dallas Cadle. Surviving are his wife, Amy (Goff) Cadle of Leon whom he married August 2, 1947; a daughter, Tamara Cadle of Leon; a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Virginia Cadle of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Alice (Dewitte) Beaver of St. Louis, MO; and Ruth (Edward) Short of Winfield; a sister-in-law, Betty Berry of Mason; and a brother-in-law, Rodney Burns of Winfield; and grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, Hannah, Mary, Rachel, Abigail, and Joanna Cadle. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Leon United Methodist Church in Leon with Rev. Johnny Hayman, Rev. Jimmy Lewis and Rev. Steve Runnion officiating. Burial will follow in the Leon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
