Verla Virginia Harrah

Verla Virginia Harrah, 92, of Mason, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport, OH.

She was born October 5, 1931, in Letart, a daughter of the late Jess Roush and Lieulo Gladys (Cunningham) Roush.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harrah; sisters, Ilene Foreman, Anna Grady and Neva Clark; and brothers, Arnold Roush, Oscar Roush and Blaine Roush.

Verla was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Letart.  She was a graduate of Wahama High School and had worked for Powell's Grocery Store in Pomeroy and the Mason EMS.

She is survived by daughters, Wanda Stafford of Letart, Christina Harrah of Middleport and Jean (Walter) Grimm of Letart; brothers, Edwin (Mary Jane) Roush of Letart and Randall (Judy) Roush of New Lexington, OH; a sister, Marlene Fields of Middleport; and several grandchildren.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Hoffman Cemetery in Letart, with Rev. Johnny Bumgardner officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
