Verba Long

Verba F. Long, 80, Point Pleasant, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born August 2, 1929 in Fraziers Bottom, WV, a daughter of the late Arnold Frazier and Ethel (Dunn) Frazier. Verba was a homemaker and member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Long; and three brothers, Ernest Frazier, Odell Frazier, and Charles Frazier. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jeff Hatfield of Point Pleasant and Connie and Mike Williams of Johnstown, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Denise Long of Point Pleasant; and five grandchildren, Jerry Long, James Long, Seth (Bethany) Hatfield, Jessica Williams, and Timmy Williams. At her request, graveside rites will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 9 at the Concord Cemetery in Henderson with Pastor Chester Hess officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 1115, Dunbar, WV 25064. The Wilcoxen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
