Thomas Jefferson Reynolds III, passed away Sunday the 23rd of June 2024, at the age of 78 in his hometown of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. His battle with serious medical conditions in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges. Despite the discomfort, Tom came out a hero and stayed strong until the end, bound for his heavenly home.
Tom was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1963 and attended Marshall University. He spent 22 years of his career at Goodyear and 24 years as a School Bus Driver for the Mason County School System.
He was a member of God’s Church and attended The First Church of God located in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, where he was a Youth Director and Sunday School Teacher for numerous years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jr. and Esther Wamsley Reynolds; his in-laws, George and Mary Neal Turner; a sister, Barbara Ann Roush; an infant son, Thomas Jefferson Reynolds IV; and son-in-law, John W. Ranegar.
He is survived by Rebecca Turner Reynolds, his loving wife of 54 years; his daughter, Tomma Ranegar and his son, Matthew Reynolds. Tom is also survived by his two grandchildren, Madison Shuler and Jacob Shuler whom he dearly loved and were the apple of his eye.
Tom also is survived by two loving sisters, Mrs. JoAnn Escue and Mrs. Patricia Call; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and deeply cherished friends.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to his remarkable physician Dr. Michael Collins and the wonderful staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center in Gallipolis, Ohio for many years of excellent care. In addition, our family wishes to also thank a family friend, Mrs. Marcia Nibert and dearly loved niece Mrs. Melinda Williamson for the loving care they provided.
A funeral service will be held at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV on Thursday the 27th of June 2024 at 2:00 p.m, with Rev. Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating. Burial will follow at the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
