Thomas Lewis Sayre, 79, of Letart, WV went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2018 after a sudden illness.Tom was born April 30, 1939 in Letart, a son of the late Dallas Edward and Mary Opal (Thompson) Sayre.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Delton Sayre; and a grandson, Matthew David Sayre.He was a Christian, a member of First Baptist Church in Mason, and a 1957 graduate of Wahama High School. After graduation, he went to work for what was then Kaiser Aluminum Corporation's Ravenswood plant and retired after 42 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, antique tractor pulls, and above all else, caring for his family.Survivors include his wife of 53 years Louease (Stone) Sayre; daughter Carla (Robert) Grady of Letart; sons Michael (Jennifer) Sayre of Fredericksburg, VA and Gary (Tammy) Sayre of Letart; grandchildren Carl Thomas Sayre, Jay Michael Sayre, Evan Robert Grady, Elijah Nicholas Grady, and Hannah Renee Sayre; sisters Geri Hill of Point Pleasant and Arlene Grimm of Letart; and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Mason, with Pastor Robert Grady officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Letart.
