Thomas Richard Byus Sr.

Thomas Richard Byus Sr., 75, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.

He was born July 10, 1948, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Jerry R. Byus Sr. and Mary E. (Jacobs) Nibert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley E. (Hill) Byus; a son, James Robert Byus; brother, Clayton Jay Byus; sisters, Barbara VanMeter, Nancy Mullins and Wilma Stapf; and a granddaughter, Sarah Graham.

Tommy was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1968, a member of the Point Pleasant Order of Odd Fellows # 33 and a carpenter for Mid Atlantic Construction of Point Pleasant.

He is survived by a son, Thomas Richard "Richie" Byus Jr.; daughters, Kimberly (Steve) Toney, Diane (Patrick) Ash, Mandy Landis and Lorie (Scot) West; sisters, Sue Darst,  Brandy McCombs and Juanita Rosemary (Rusty) Davis; brothers, Charles M. (Ann) Byus, Jerry Robert Byus Jr., Randal W. (Bonnie) Byus and Ronald C. (Connie) Byus.  He was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Trey Byus, Jamie Byus, Amy Robie, Jessica Robie, Rachel Ochler, E.J. Vincent, Jennie Flinn, Abram Ash, Abriana Ash, Allie Morrow, Brianna Reed, Penny Powell, Joshua Harris and James Cosner; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In honoring Tommy's wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
