Thelma L. Yester

Thelma Lorrine Yester, 85, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at her home. She attended Henderson Church of Christ in Henderson, and was a homemaker. Thelma was born January 20, 1924 in Gallipolis Ferry, a daughter of the late Clayton I. Jones and Rosie B. (Lowe) Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Yester; a son, King David Yester; three grandsons, Joshua M. Yester, James D. Bush, and Bill Yester; one great-grandson, Matthew Miller; two brothers, Linville "Bill" C. Jones and Richard C. Jones; three sisters, Neomia G. "Ginny" Clark, Irene V. Cremeans, and Carrie E. Hanshaw; and a special son-in-law, Dennis R. Crilow. Surviving is her children, Edward H. (Belva) Yester of Apple Grove, Wanda L. Hughart of Henderson, Rose Ellen (David) Bush of Point Pleasant, Alvin R. (Sheila) Yester of Vinton, OH, Albert R. (Phyllis) Yester of Point Pleasant, Kathy L. Crilow of Gallipolis Ferry, and Debra A. Hall of Gallipolis Ferry; a sister, Juanita "Bonnie" Ayers of Huntington; a brother, Clarence "Junior" (Aileen) Jones of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Janet Blankenship, Sharron Smith, Mary Fielder, Tracy Robinson and family, Roger Peck, and Jane and Bill Abshire. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Dr. Todd Ragan officiating. Burial will follow in Beale Chapel Cemetery at Apple Grove.
