Teddy Gene Rainey

Teddy "T.G." Gene Rainey, 45 of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. He was born June 26, 1964 in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of Ernest "Jake" William Rainey and Teddy Rose (Meaige) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry. T.G. was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, a farmer, former construction worker, former employee of Pleasant Valley Hospital, mowed lawns and maintained the grounds at Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Harry "Doc" and Sadie Rainey and maternal grandparents, Ted and Ida Bell Meaige. Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Debra (Allbright) Rainey who he married July 11, 1986; one daughter, Jessica "Neanos" Rainey and Darren McQueen of Apple Grove; two stepdaughters, Stacy Huffman of Point Pleasant, and Jennifer Warden of New Haven; one granddaughter who he was raising, Amethyst Taylor of Gallipolis Ferry; and three grandsons, Tyler, Chris and David. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Penny) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry and Steve (Colleen) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry, three sisters, Cindy (Roy) Myers of Gallipolis Ferry, Scarlett (Aaron) Enos of Point Pleasant, and Susan Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry; two nieces, Kacee Rainey and Zoe Enos; step-niece, Tiffany; and two nephews, Jacob Rainey, and one of his best friends and "pal" a.k.a. "Spanky" Jamie Rainey. T. G. will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jamie Rainey, Joe Loomis, Paul Simpkins, Brian Ebert, Simon Turley, and Danny Austin. Online condolences may be made at www.wilcoxenfuneralhome.com.
