Stephen Lee Weethee, 58, of Gallipolis Ferry went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. Steve was retired from Southern Ohio Coal Mine #31 in 1989, and was currently employed by Supresta LLC, and was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 859. He was an avid farmer and loved to go hunting with his grandkids. He attended New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant. He was born April 2, 1950 in Gallipolis Ferry to the late John Wesley Weethee Sr., and Okla E. (Messick) Weethee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; and brother, Clinton Weethee. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Juanita (Henry) Weethee of Gallipolis Ferry; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Sheri Weethee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Danny Lear and Beth and Eric Gay all of Gallipolis Ferry; eight grandchildren; Devin Lear, Austin Darst, Ryanna Darst, Dalton Lear, Zach Wallis, Marley Gay, Shawna Weethee, and Aydan Lear; two sisters, Sharon (Mickey) Sheline, of Washington Court House, OH; and Jeanie (Ray) Bledsoe of Gallipolis Ferry; two brothers, John (Vickie) Weethee of Gallipolis Ferry; and Robert (Dorothy) Weethee of Gallipolis Ferry. Additional survivors are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry (Rosalea) Henry of Columbus, OH; Joe (Renee) Henry and Patricia Hughes and companion Duke Price of Gallipolis Ferry; and several nieces and nephews. Steve was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, at New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant with Rev. Dean Warner and Rev. Dorsel Messick officiating. Burial will follow in the Weethee Family Farm Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, and one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday.
