Shirley Elizabeth Byus

Shirley Elizabeth Byus, 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully Friday, November 26, 2021, with her family by her bedside at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness. She was born September 27, 1942, in Mason, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest L. Hill and Elizabeth (Pearson) Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Robert Byus; a granddaughter, Sarah Graham; and several brothers and sisters. Shirley was a homemaker and over the years she enjoyed flower arranging, painting, sewing, woodworking and was noticed several times by the Point Pleasant Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club for her landscaping. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Byus of Point Pleasant; daughters, Kimberly (Steve) Toney of Columbus, OH, Diane (Patrick) Ash of Quiet Dale, WV, Mandy Landis of Elkins, WV and Lorie (Scot) West of Gallipolis, OH; one son, Richie Byus of Apple Grove; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In honoring Shirley's wishes there will be no services at this time.The family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.Wilcoxen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
