Shane Anthony Baird

Shane Anthony Baird, 27, of Southside, WV passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006. He was born March 16, 1979 in Point Pleasant, was a 1998 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, where he played football for the Point Pleasant Big Blacks. He was a former employee of Parks Industry as a certified welder and electrician, a member of the Gallipolis Elks Club, and grew up attending Hambrick Church in Southside. His maternal grandfather, Bill Baird, and an uncle, John Darrell Baird, preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother and father, Mary and Norris Bumgarner of Southside; brothers, Wesley Wears and Tommy Bumgarner; maternal grandmother, Lois Baird of Southside; paternal grandparents, Tom and Lois Bumgarner of West Columbia; and Erma and Wayne Jones of Mason; a special friend, Laura Gleason; aunts and uncles, Billy and Sheila Baird, Bobby and Ronita Baird, Lisa and Jay Colburn, Cynthia and Todd Aeiker, Crystal and Lloyd Lee, Lori and Steve Miller, Barbie and Jim Chasten, Zack Harris, Brad and Ona Bumgarner, Roger Bumgarner, nephews, Wesley and Wyatt and several cousins. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Hambrick Church at Southside, WV with Rev. Lee Baird officiating. Burial will follow in the Hambrick Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.
