Sarah Katherine Elias

Sarah Katherine Elias, 83, of Letart, WV,  passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

She was born May 28, 1941, in Clifton, WV, a daughter of the late Franklin Roush and Belva Marie (Young) Roush.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Franketta Roush.

Sarah was a member of Saint Mark's Lutheran Church in Letart and a retired teacher's aid from Mason County Schools with 36 years' service. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 157 of Mason, WV, Mason County Democratic Executive Committee for over 30 years, Women of the Moose in Point Pleasant, Democratic Women's Club, a Kentucky Colonel and in 1976 was the State Bowling Champion.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Mark) Hager of Mason; sons, James Daniel (Pamela) Elias of Letart, David H. (Mary) Elias of Letart and Robert W. (Shelia) Elias of Letart; and a sister, Frances Jo (James) McKnight of Letart.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley (Nic) Nottingham, Tara (Sean) Suchevits, Jessica (Eddie) Campbell, Lindsey (Jason) Henry, Josh (Lauren) Elias, Phillip Allen, Lydia (Devin) Walker and Jimmy Ingles; great-grandchildren, Hannah (Colten) Rayburn, Nicole, James and Jackson Nottingham, Eli and Dax Suchevits, Vivian Campbell, Liam and Naomie Henry, and Alaina and Barrett Walker; and special friends, Allen Whittman, Anna Rawson, Judy Barnett and Pat Park.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in New Haven, WV, with Pastor Patrice Weirick officiating.  Following the service a dinner will be held in the church social hall.  Interment will be at the Saint Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Letart.

In Sarah's honor in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
