Ruth Ella Wright

Ruth Ella (Baird) Wright, 79, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Mason, WV, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Point Pleasant High School-Class of 1950, a member of Zion Baptist Church of Gallipolis Ferry, and lifelong resident of Mason County. Ruth was born August 27, 1931 in Gallipolis Ferry, a daughter of the late Joseph S. "Buster" Baird and Glenna Francis (Roberts) Baird. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olston O. "Nick" Wright; and one sister, Ann Johnson. Surviving are her children, Kim and David Duncan of Point Pleasant, Kathie and David Hoffman of Middleport, Ohio, Nikki and Manning Roe of New Haven, Mark and Brenda Wright of Gallipolis Ferry, and Randy Wright of Mason and fiancee Vicky Gardner; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Eileen Baird of Gallipolis Ferry; nine grandchildren, Anthony and Loraine Wright of New Haven, Markia Wright of Gallipolis Ferry, Brenton Barnette and Olyvia Duncan both of Point Pleasant, Lian Hoffman, Marlee Hoffman, Gracie Hoffman and Cole Hoffman, all of Middleport, and Nicholas Roe of New Haven; special caregiver, Cindy Neal; and her beloved dog Russell. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Merle Wood officiating.
