Ruth Ann Sisson

Ruth Ann Sisson, 62, of Southside died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Ruth will be remembered as a beloved wife and mother. She was a homemaker and attended Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. She was born September 27, 1945, in Moundsville, WV, to the late Benjamin Franklin Peery and Mary Virginia (Meadows) Peery Slayton. Ruth is survived by her husband, Linford Sisson of Southside; two daughters, Diana Sisson and Betsy Sisson both of Hamden, Connecticut; three brothers, James and Barbara Peery of Ava, Missouri, Charles and Diana Peery of Apple Grove, WV, and Calvin Slayton of Lesage, WV; five sisters, Patsy and David Brumfield of Evansville, Indiana, Dottie and Raymond Yonker of Apple Grove, Joyce and Ronnie Rainey of Apple Grove, Kathy Powell of Apple Grove, and Vickie and Wayne Young of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews, including Crystal Peery of Apple Grove, and Ashley Miller of Barboursville, WV; and lifelong friend, Joan Campbell of Gallipolis Ferry, WV. Services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Fred McCallister officiating. Burial will follow at the Barton Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
