Ruby Ruth May

Ruby Ruth May, 96, of Gallipolis, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Arbors At Gallipolis, Gallipolis, OH. She was born June 24, 1925, in Chikaming, MI, a daughter of the late Robert Krieger and Ernestine (Schmidt) Krieger-Scovel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Scovel; husband, Weldon E. May; a son, Ronald Eugene May; one sister, Laverne Zeiger; two brothers, Robert Krieger and Chester Krieger; and a stepbrother, Carter Scovel. Ruby was a member of Grace Bible Church of Elkhart, IN, where she had a 40 yr. card ministry.She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed childcare with preschoolers until her 60's, gardening through her 90's and flying to see her out of state children and their families until she turned 90. She is survived by her children, Sandra L. (Thomas) Weaver of Deltona, FL, Melanie S. (Billy Lee) of Norfolk, VA and Brian R. (Janet) May of Ashton, WV; sisters, Arlene Hartfert, Mildred Dolezel and Jean Freyer all of Sawyer, MI; seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, IN, at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, with Rev. Brian May officiating.
