Ruby Maye Gillispie

Ruby Maye Gillispie, 85, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Trinity Health Care of Mingo, Williamson, WV. She was born December 23, 1936, in Pliny, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer Anderson Dunn and Nellie Virginia (Allen) Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon H. Gillispie; a son, Wesley Dunn; and a brother, Randall Dunn. Ruby attended the Wyoma Pentecostal Church at Gallipolis Ferry.She was a nursing assistant,working for various nursing homes and also had done private care for those in the home. She is survived by daughters, Mary Elizabeth Gillispie of Gallipolis Ferry, Pennie Sue (Robert) Brumfield of Vinton, OH and Lillie (Tony) Sowards of Vinton, OH; sons, Paul (Jeanette) Poar of Chester, OH, Billy Joe Poar of Vinton, OH and Davey Poar of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Worthy Dunn of Southside, Handley Dunn of Pomeroy, OH and James (Debbie) Dunn of Southside; granddaughter, Katelyn Gillispie; special friends, Ruth O'Brien and Linda Jeffers; and five grandchildren. A graveside service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Wyoma Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
