Ruby M. Carder, 89, of Point Pleasant died at home Friday evening, March 14, 2008 in the presence of family and friends. Ruby was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and Marshall University. She was a retired Mason County Elementary teacher with thirty years of service, a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Colonel Charles Lewis Chapter DAR, Mason County Retired School Employees, and the former Anne Bailey Extension Homemakers. She was born November 18, 1918 in Point Pleasant to the late Robert Henry McCulloch and Iva Blanche (Kincade) McCulloch. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis L. Carder; three brothers, Francis McCulloch, Robert "Gene" McCulloch, and James "Ivan" McCulloch. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Clifford Carder; her son, Dwight "King" Carder of Point Pleasant; a granddaughter, Carol Carder of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; along with Carol's mother, Debra Carder of Point Pleasant. Graveside Rites will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 with Rev. Nancy Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
