Royall E. Beattie

Royall E. Beattie, 75, of Point Pleasant, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.

He was born August 18, 1948, in Leon, WV, a son of the late Andrew M. and Mary "Elizabeth" Beattie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Sue Beattie; and a sister, Lillian "Velmeda" Dunn.

Royall served his country in the United States Army from February 1968 to January 1970, in Fort Knox, Kentucky and Germany both (Armor Division).  His career later leads him to the West Virginia Army National Guard 3664th Maintenance Company from June of 1985 until his retirement as a Sergeant First Class E7, on October 2003.  Royall was also a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1967.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Queen of Point Pleasant; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Heather Beattie of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Harry Lee (Courtney) Queen Jr. of Point Pleasant, Lila Beattie of Nashville, TN, Joel Beattie of Eleanor, WV, Sophie Beattie of Point Pleasant, Riley Beattie of Point Pleasant and Chelsea Black of Charleston, WV; and great grandchildren, Kyla Queen, Carter Queen, Heidi Queen, Catherine Queen, Hudson Queen and Charlee Queen.

In honoring Royall's request there will be no public services.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
