Rose Eileen White

Rose E. White, 85, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Broadmore Senior Living at Teays Valley. She was born March 16, 1933, in Bancroft, WV, a daughter of the late William Thomas Gatens and Elizabeth Francis (Hackett) Gatens. Rose was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. She was a homemaker and former employee of Heck's Department Store. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis O. White; five sisters; and four brothers. Rose is survived by her children, Patty (Wayne) Sanders of Hurricane, Brooks (Trisha) White of Hurricane, Jody (Ron) Durst of Point Pleasant and Angie (Tom) Anderson of Hartford. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Brooke (Adam) Quentrill, Erin (Jesse) Davis, Bradley (Michelle) White, Kevin (Jerrica) White, Miranda (Spencer) Kissel, Kenneth (Abby) Durst, Rebecca Durst, Jill (Luke) Harris, Meghann (Dane) Diemer, Trey Anderson and Cara (Dylan) Smith; and 13 great-grandchildren, Dylan Quentrill, Zane Quentrill, Abby Sanders, Wyatt Harris, Nate Harris, Layne Davis, Evan White, Mattis White, Ace Kissell, Lennon Kissel, Emory Durst, Daphne White, and Benjamin Diemer. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Father Pen (Penumaka) officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Monday at the church.
