Ronnie D. Rainey, 61, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Monday, January 11, 2010 at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital in Hurricane, WV. He was a boilermaker with 35 years service, a member of the Boilermakers Union Local No. 667, and also a member of American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. Ronnie was born January 14, 1948 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Emogene (Roberts) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry and the late James Everett Rainey. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Rainey. Surviving is his wife, Juanita Lee (Reublin) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry who he married January 3, 1983; children, James Edward Rainey, David Lee Rainey, and Wendy Annette (Charles) Richie all of Crown City, OH, Penny Sue (Jerry) Hawkins of Hundred, WV, Laurie A. (Jerry) Litchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, David Edward (Tammy) Mercer of Worthington, WV, and Eric Allen (Erin) Mercer of Killeen, Texas; one sister-in-law, Sally Rainey of Point Pleasant; one niece Crystal (Chuck) Saunders of Point Pleasant; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many special friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Sanders Rulen officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
