Roger Lane Wilson

Roger L. Wilson, 81, of Ashland, VA, formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, VA. He was born September 17, 1939, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Adam Fay Wilson and Nelma M. "Johnnie" Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet V. (McCoy) Wilson. Roger was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Point Pleasant and the American Baptist Mens Fellowship. He served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard and was a retired federal government clerk. He is survived by three daughters, Charmaine Gore of South Point, OH, Katherine (Tim) Bowers of Danville, KY and Elizabeth (Douglas) Winegardner of Beaverdam, VA; two brothers, Richard F. (Patricia) Wilson of Scottsdale, AZ and Stephen D. (Patricia) Wilson of Salisbury, MD; five grandchildren, Chelcy (Cory) Sullivan, Tyler (Bradi) Bowers, Elaine Gore, Ryan Winegardner and Finn Winegardner; two great-grandchildren, Kala Sullivan and Maxwell Bowers; and many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many extended family members. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Rev.
