Roger Emmett Nibert 63, of Henderson, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at home. He was born June 15, 1947, in Mason County, a son of the late Emmett Nibert and Katherine E. (Gillispie) Nibert. Roger was a Christian, and of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School with the Class of 1966, was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War at which time he received the Bronze Star, and had retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber with 30 years service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Nibert and Robert Nibert; and a sister-in-law, Helen Nibert. Surviving are his wife, Joanna R. (Smith) Nibert of Henderson; one son, Charles Aaron (Samantha) Baird Jr. of Henderson; three daughters, Jody Nibert and (Kyle Fencetermaker) of Kentucky, Tammy (Steven) McKeel of Kentucky, and Brandy (Jason) Borders of Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Ryan McKeel of Kentucky, Codi Nibert of Kentucky, Cory Nibert of Kentucky, Trenton Latham of Kentucky, Brayden Baird of Point Pleasant, Christian McKeel of Kentucky, and Trey Borders of Kentucky; two sisters, Nadene (Fred) Pearson of Point Pleasant, and Irene Wandling of Delaware, OH; one brother, Donald "John" (Lois) Nibert of Ravenswood, WV; a sister-in-law, Barbara Nibert of Delaware, OH; a special nephew and best friend, Alan Pearson of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant with military graveside rites given by American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant and the West Virginia Honor Guard.
