Rodney Paul "Rod" Brand

Rodney Paul "Rod" Brand, 89, of Southside, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Broadmore Senior Living, Hurricane, WV.He was born May 18, 1928, in Mason City, NE, a son of the late Oliver Fredrick Brand and Myrtle Grace (Dady) Brand.Rod was a member of Harmony Baptist Church at Southside. He retired from Citizens National Bank as Vice-President and was an artist who painted over 100 pictures.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Loman Brand.He is survived by his wife, Jessie Irene (Beard) Brand of Southside; several nieces, nephews, and his church family.A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor David Radcliff officiating. Burial will follow at the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
