Roberta Jane Cromley

Roberta Jane Cromley, 86, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at home.

She was born October 12, 1936, in Portsmouth, OH, a daughter of the late Walter E. Shaffer and Ruth L. (Gillette) Shaffer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Cox; and brother, Donal Shaffer.

Roberta was a member of New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant and former office manager for Dr. Obregon of Point Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Cromley of Point Pleasant; daughters, Susan K. (Rodney) Plants of Point Pleasant and Ruth L. Gillespie of Point Pleasant; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
