Robert Davis Tillis

Robert Davis "Bob" Tillis Sr., 84, of Point Pleasant died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was a retired accounting representative with Appalachian Power Company with 40 years service, a U. S. Army Veteran serving during WWII, and a member of American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant and Loyal Order of Moose No. 731. Bob was born Nov. 26, 1924 in Point Pleasant to the late George W. Tillis and Helen Elizabeth (Knapp) Tillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephews, Roger Meadows and Charles Krebs. Surviving are his wife, Vivian (Knapp) Tillis of Point Pleasant; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Davis "Bobby" Jr. and Georgianna Tillis of Point Pleasant and William Denver "Billy" Tillis of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sisters, Kathern Meadows of Point Pleasant and Bernice Krebs of Buckhannon, WV; nephews, James K. (Sandra) Shell of New Haven, and Gerald (Joyce) Krebs of Point Pleasant; and nieces, Beth Ann (Keith) Bonecutter of Point Pleasant, Jane Meadows of Point Pleasant, and Margie Sue (Charles) Bennett of Buckhannon, WV. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Nott officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.
