Robert Eugene Hope

Robert Eugene Hope, 87, of Galax, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Independence, VA. He was born February 4, 1931, in Gallipolis, OH, a son of the late Edgar and Mary Mink Hope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Ann Hope; son, Travis Dean Hope; and sister, Juanita Hope.Mr. Hope was a Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ.He is survived by his sons, Robert Gregory Hope and wife, Beth of Elk Creek, VA and Nelson Andrew Hope of Boiling Springs Lake, NC; daughters, Lois Lenoir Williams and husband, Terry of Knoxville, TN and Valerie Hope Lashua and husband, Tim of Douglasville, GA; brother, Landon Hope and wife, Sarah of Little Rock, AR; sister, Faith Stover and husband, James of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Jason Williams, Robbie Williams, Olivia Deweese, Zachary Hope and Katie Hope; great grandchildren, Hollis Hope, Jack Williams, Brooke Williams and Brynn Williams.A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Burial will follow in the Austin-Hope-McLeod Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry.
