Robert E. Burdette, 77, of Point Pleasant passed away Friday, October 12, 2007, in Pleasant Valley Hospital. Born July 18, 1930, in Point Pleasant, he was a son of the late G.K. and Lenna E. Burdette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James "Woodie" Burdette, and three sisters, Virginia L. Weaver, Edith May Burdette and Kathryn E. Faudree. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School with the class of 1948. He served in the National Guard and was retired from Goodyear-Shell Chemical Plant, Apple Grove. He was a member of Krebs Chapel United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant. Robert spent much of his retirement years at their farm on Robinson Creek Road, for which he and Reba were recipients of the Mason County Conservation Farm of the Year for 2005. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Reba L. Burdette of Point Pleasant; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Gloria Burdette of Cottageville; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rob Allbright of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren, Kayla, Steven and Staci Burdette of Cottageville and Erik and Kelsey Allbright of Point Pleasant; and one brother, George W. Burdette of Point Pleasant. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
