Richard Daran Raike

Richard Daran Raike, 80, of Gallipolis Ferry died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his residence. He was retired with 40 years of service from M.T. Epling Sand & Gravel. Richard was born January 20, 1929 in Gallipolis, OH, son of the late Douglas Raike and Allene (Wolfe) Raike. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Allen Raike; and one brother, Douglas "Benny" Raike Jr. Surviving are his wife, Linda (Rulen) Raike of Gallipolis Ferry; one daughter, Angie Krimm of Conover, NC; five grandchildren, Summer and Michael Sweeny of Tega Cay, SC, Jesse Raike of Gallipolis Ferry, Brittany and Derek DeSantis of Conover, NC, Charlie and Erica Raike of Cheshire, OH and Katie Harmon of Henderson, WV; six great-grandchildren, Lily Raike, Isabella DeSantis, Meadow Sweeny, Abigail, Gracelynn and Elijah Raike; two sisters, Betty Baldwin of Gallipolis, OH and Kathleen Rulen of Gallipolis Ferry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with the Rev. William "Bud" Hatfield officiating.
