Rev. Bobby Lee Woods, 86, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Abbyshire Place, Bidwell, OH. He was born March 18, 1930, in Edwight, WV, a son of the late Edgar Wood and Myrell (Hughes) Wood. Bobby served his country honorably in the United States Army and had been a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant since 1963. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1989 and had pastored from June 1968 to June 2006 in Mason, Jackson and Lincoln counties in West Virginia. In 1983, he was chosen as "Pastor of the Year" at the West Virginia Annual Conference. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Woods; two brothers, Lonnie J. Wood and Billy Joe Wood; stepmother, Claudia Peters; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Owen Gardner. Bobby is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Aaron) Weaver of Letart, Brenda (Bruce) Hussell of Imperial, MO and Kathy Gardner of Point Pleasant; two sons, Edgar Woods of Morgantown and Craig (Emily) Woods of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren, Brandon Weaver, Jillian Harris, Scott Hussell, Bryant Woods, Amanda Woods, and Nathan Woods; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Chip Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday at the church.
