Rena E. Nibert VanSickle, 93, of Gallipolis, Ohio died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Arbors of Gallipolis. Rena was a homemaker and member of the Pleasant View Church at Gallipolis Ferry, WV. She was born March 29, 1915 in Gallipolis Ferry, WV to the late Charles F. and Lillie Rose (Henry) Nibert. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Foster G. VanSickle; four sons, Ronnie, Donnie, Mike, and Garland VanSickle; brothers, William Henry Nibert, Worthy F. Nibert, Bud Nibert and Charles Eugene Nibert; sisters, Evelyn Burrows, Louise Weethee, Nora Burrows; and a great-great granddaughter, Kaylee Ruth Price. Surviving are a son, Dale (Virginia Ann) VanSickle of Gallipolis, Ohio; three daughters, Janice (Ballard Lee) Howell of Gallipolis; Norma Jean (Greg) Howell of Huntington, WV; and Deborah (Howard) Boster of Huntington; a grandson whom she reared, Garland VanSickle, Jr.; a special niece and nephew Thelma J. (Fred) Copeland; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Revs. Ted Nance and Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery in Addison, Ohio. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Arbors and Hospice of Gallipolis for their care and friendship that was shown to Rena and her family.
