Randy Franklin Riddle

January 30, 1956 — August 3, 2024

Randy Franklin Riddle, 68, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024.

He was born January 30, 1956, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Cebert R. Riddle and Hilda Jean (Porter) Riddle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Fitzhugh and Reva Riddle and John and Lorna Porter.

Randy graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1974, where he excelled in wrestling and football.  He then moved to Chicago, Illinois and attended Coyne College. After graduation, he commenced a long and illustrious career in the coal mining industry, spanning many states across the country, including West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Alabama.  While working at AEP/Meigs Division in the 1980s, Randy received a bachelor's degree from Marshall University and pursued a Masters of Business at West Virginia University, which he completed in 2001. Throughout his many years in the industry, Randy tirelessly worked his way from the bottom to top, from a laborer to Vice President General Manager at the Hopedale Mining Company in Hopedale, OH.  Randy was also a proud member of American Legion Post 23 in Point Pleasant.

He is survived by Lisa Riddle, his loving wife of 44 years; his sons, Cory (Erin) Riddle of Madison, Mississippi and Jacob (Brittany) Riddle of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Ashton Riddle of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Connor and Dylan Riddle; siblings, Bernie (Diane) Riddle, Patricia (Brooks) White, Tara Lynn Riddle; and many nieces and nephews, including a beloved nephew, Issac Albert-Riddle.  Randy loved his extended family and friends and was especially proud of his role as a father, grandfather and uncle.

Randy was fortunate to have the best brothers-in-law, including Bo Doeffinger, Dave Jenkins, Mike Kauffer and Barry Redman, who has been his best friend since 1st grade.  If you knew Randy, you know Barry; they were the epitome of friendship and family.

Randy had many pets, past and present that he cared for and loved.  He is survived by his best buddy Leo, a white rescue cat.
